While we are not currently accepting new applications, we encourage you to review the requirements below to see if you might be a good fit when recruitment reopens.

Successful applicants must possess a caring and compassionate nature and be willing to operate as part of a team in testing conditions.

As a Oxford City Angel applicant you will understand that: 

• Applicants must be 18 years or over
• Volunteers agree to take part in a 6hr hour shift once a month on a Saturday night/Sunday morning between 22:00 and 04:00 
• In a position to volunteer with Oxford City Angels for at  least 1 year
• Volunteers will be sensitive, understanding and non-judgmental when engaging with or supporting service users
• During a shift volunteers are likely to engage with and support a survivor/victim of sexual harassment/violence  Please do consider this before applying
• Volunteers will often support highly intoxicated people. If you have a significant aversion to blood or vomit this will not be a role for you
• Volunteers are likely to engage with challenging  individuals and respond to distressing incidents
• Our volunteers often walk between 5 to 10 miles every shift
• OCA reserves the right to reject any application at anytime 

To reflect the female-focused nature of our work we only accept applications from female candidates for frontline positions. We have no plans to recruit male candidates for frontline safeguarding activities.
